Burundi: le gouvernement parvient à faire revenir trois opposants du Cnared
Le gouvernement burundais vient de porter un coup à son opposition. Il est parvenu à obtenir le retour au Burundi lundi 20 février de trois personnalités membres de l’organe dirigeant du Cnared, la plateforme qui regroupe l’opposition en exil et une partie de l’opposition interne et avec laquelle il refuse de discuter, malgré les pressions de la communauté internationale.
Ce retour au pays survient au lendemain de l’échec de la dernière session de jeudi à Arusha, une ville du nord de la Tanzanie où ce retour s’est négocié. Ce n’est pas la première fois que le pouvoir burundais lui joue ce tour de ramener au pays des personnalités qui vivaient en exil.
Après l’ancien président burundais Sylvestre Ntibantunganya, le pouvoir burundais vient de rajouter trois noms à son tableau de chasse, trois membres du directoire du Cnared, l’organe dirigeant de la principale plateforme d’opposition, qui ont atterri à l’aéroport international de Bujumbura lundi 20 février au soir.
Le couple Alice Nzomukunda et Mathias Basabose, à la tête du petit parti ADR, et Joseph Ntidendereza, un ancien député du parti Frodebu nyakuri ont été accueillis en grande pompe par l’ombudsman burundais, Edouard Nduwimana. A ses côtés, le secrétaire général du parti au pouvoir, le général Evariste Ndayishimiye, qui a joué un rôle déterminant dans leur décision de regagner le Burundi après des années d’exil.
« Coup de massue » pour le Cnared
Qu’ont-ils obtenu en échange ? Rien n’a transpiré à ce sujet, mais le pouvoir burundais s’est réjoui de ce qu’un journal qui lui est proche a qualifié de « coup de massue » pour le Cnared. La preuve aux yeux du gouvernement d’une paix retrouvée malgré les rapports internationaux qui continuent de dénoncer les violations des droits humains.
Cette coalition d’opposition minimise. Son responsable de la communication, Jérémie Minani, parle d’« un non-événement ». Il rappelle que le retour au Burundi des trois personnalités était devenu un secret de polichinelle au fil des jours. Le Cnared avait d’ailleurs exclu il y a quelques semaines le parti ADR de ses rangs pour avoir rencontré le facilitateur dans la crise burundaise, en violation de ses directives.
Mais les partisans du pouvoir burundais enfoncent le clou. Ils parlent d’un signe de plus qui met en lumière les problèmes auxquels fait face une opposition en exil, minée par de nombreuses rivalités internes.
